SiteSmith Forge
Git hosting that deploys to your website.
Forge keeps your code in private Git repositories. When you merge into the branch you picked, it builds the site and uploads it to your SiteSmith hosting account.
What it does
What Forge does.
Forge is part of SiteSmith Workspace. It uses the same login, and it can see your hosting sites, domains and databases when you set up a deploy.
Repositories and pull requests
Private Git repositories you push to with any Git client. Review changes line by line, comment, and merge.
Deploys to your hosting
Merge into main and the site updates. Next.js, Node, Python, PHP, Vite, Astro and plain HTML are detected for you.
Environment variables
Start from your .env.example or paste a .env file. Values are stored encrypted and never shown in build logs.
Databases
Create a MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis or MongoDB database while you set up a deploy. Its connection details go into the app's variables.
Monorepos
Turborepo and pnpm workspaces work. Put each app on its own domain or subdomain.
Edits from the file manager
Fix something in the hosting code editor, then push it to a new branch and open a pull request from there.
Code for sites we build
When we build your site, the code lives in Forge and moves to your account when the project is done.
In the mobile app
Read code, merge pull requests and watch a deploy go live in the SiteSmith app.
Setting up a deploy
Setting up a deploy takes four steps.

Push your code
Create a repository in Workspace and push to it, or start from code we built for you.

Pick where it goes
Choose a hosting site and folder, a branch, and a domain or a new subdomain. Forge works out how to build it.

Add your settings
Fill in environment variables from your .env.example, and create a database if the app needs one.

Merge and it's live
Every merge into the branch builds and deploys. Watch the log as it happens, on the web or in the app.

Pricing
Forge is free to use. Deploying needs a hosting plan.
Anyone with a free Workspace account can use Forge; repositories count toward your Drive storage. Deploying needs a SiteSmith hosting plan, and builds are included with it.
